Welcome to Korea! 🇰🇷 Incheon International Airport (ICN) is world-class, but it is also huge. After a long flight, the last thing you want is to get lost finding your way to Seoul.
“Should I take the train or the bus?” “Where is the station?” “Am I in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2?”
Don’t panic. This single post will answer everything. I will help you choose the best transport and guide you exactly how to find the stops at both terminals.
PART 1. The Choice: Train vs. Bus 🚄🚌
First, let’s decide what to take. You have two main options to get to Seoul Station.
Option A: AREX Train (The Speed King)
The Airport Railroad Express (AREX) is the fastest way. No traffic jams, guaranteed arrival time.

- Express Train (Orange Color): Non-stop to Seoul Station (43 mins). Reserved seats. (~$7 USD)
- All-Stop Train (Blue Color): Stops at every station like Hongdae (60 mins). Subway seats. (~$3 USD)
- ⚠️ Crucial Tip: Staying in Hongdae? Take the Blue (All-Stop) train! The Orange train does NOT stop there.
Option B: Limousine Bus (The Comfort Queen)
Hate carrying luggage up and down stairs? Take the bus.

- Comfort: Huge reclining seats (Business class style).
- Convenience: The driver loads your luggage for you.
- Price & Time: ~$13 USD, 60~90 mins (depends on traffic).
PART 2. Navigation: How to Find Them (T1 vs. T2) 📍
Now that you’ve chosen your ride, let’s find out where to go. Check your flight ticket first! Are you at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2?
📍 If you are at Terminal 1 (Asiana, LCCs, etc.)
1. To take the BUS 🚌 It’s easy. The bus stops are right outside on the 1st Floor (Arrivals).
- Directions: Exit through Gate 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, or 13.
- Ticket Booth: You will see ticket kiosks right outside the gates.
- Boarding: Cross the first crosswalk, and find your bus stop number (e.g., 6A, 12B).

2. To take the AREX TRAIN 🚄 You need to walk a bit.
- Directions: Find the escalator/elevator going down to B1 (Basement 1).
- Follow the Yellow Signs: Look for “Airport Railroad” signs.
- Walk: Cross the moving walkway to the “Transportation Center”. It takes about 5~10 minutes.
📍 If you are at Terminal 2 (Korean Air, Delta, etc.)
Terminal 2 is more modern and convenient. Everything is in one place!
To take BOTH Bus & Train:
- Directions: Go down to B1 (Basement 1) immediately.
- Transportation Center: Follow the signs to the “Transportation Center”.
- Left Side: Bus Terminal (Indoors! No freezing outside).
- Right Side: AREX Train Station.

PART 3. Buying Tickets 🎟️
You don’t need to speak Korean. Look for the Kiosks (Ticket Machines).

- Language: Select “English” (or Chinese/Japanese) on the screen.
- Payment: They accept Credit Cards (Visa/Master) and Korean Won (Cash).
- T-Money: If you take the Blue Train (All-Stop), you can just tap your T-Money card! (I’ll explain T-Money in the next post).
Summary Table
Final Tip: If you have heavy luggage, the Bus is much easier at Terminal 1. If you are at Terminal 2, both are convenient, so choose based on your budget and schedule!
Safe travels to Seoul!
